Custom Harley rims can be supported by either spokes or what are called mags. Each has their own characteristics, which make the choice of which to use a bit of a personal opinion. However, knowing a bit about each can be helpful in the decision making process.

Many people prefer the look of custom Harley rims that utilize spokes. Spokes offer a very classic look, popular with many purists. The down side of spokes is that they are much harder to keep clean than are mag wheels.

Most custom Harley rims today use mags instead of spokes. One of the main advantages is that mags can be designed in a number of unique styles, making them popular with many of today’s riders. Most show bikes today use mag wheels as well.
